💻 School of Nursing Loaner Laptop Program

The School of Nursing (SON) maintains a fleet of loaner computers available to students, faculty, and staff for short-term use. There is no charge to borrow a laptop; however, borrowers are expected to treat all equipment with the same care as their own devices.

⏳ Loan Period

• Typical loan period: 1–3 days

• Extended loans may be approved if your personal device is being repaired or replaced

🎯 Appropriate Use

The SON loaner program is intended as a backup resource, not as a replacement for the school’s laptop requirement or for convenience.

All students must:

• ✔️ Have an approved personal device

• ✔️ Bring their device when it is required

Loaners are intended for:

• 🔹 Forgotten device (when legitimately needed)

• 🔹 Unexpected technical problems

⚠️ Excessive Use

The following may result in loss of loaner privileges:

• ❌ Frequent checkout for convenience

• ❌ Keeping a device longer than approved

• ❌ Requesting a loaner more than 2 times in a month

🔌 Equipment & Responsibility

When borrowing a laptop, you will receive:

• 💻 Laptop

• 🔌 AC charger/adapter

• 🎒 Carrying bag (if needed)

Before leaving the SON ITS office (Pinkard Room 328):

• 🔍 Inspect the laptop and accessories

• 📝 Report any existing damage to a SON ITS staff member

• 🎧 Request additional accessories if needed (mouse, headphones, etc.)

Please return all items at the end of the loan period.
