  1. Please use the Safari Web Browser

  2. Click on link to download the setup file: Popup.dmg (note you must be connected to the VPN or Hopkins WiFi network for this link to work)

  3. Open the Downloads Folder and select the Popup.dmg file you downloaded.

    • NOTE: If you receive the warning message "App can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer"
      control-click the application and choose “Open”

  4. Open the "Popup" drive mounted to your desktop and install the "Popup.pkg"

  2. Select Continue on the "Introduction" and "Read Me" dialogue windows.

  3. Select Install.

  4. Provide Username and Password to local machine (or fingerprint authorization) if prompted.

  5. Install this HP Printer Essentials software package

  7. Open System Preferences and click on the Printers & Scanners icon. 

  8. Click the Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax... button in the lower Right corner of the window.

  9. If you see an Advanced icon on the toolbar, go to step 13.

  10. Hold down the control key down and click the space next to the Search bar. Then choose Customize Toolbar...

    • It is highly recommended that you copy and paste the entire URL above to avoid a typo. If you do, make sure you paste over the existing "popup://" value.

  2. In the Name: field, enter SON Student Printer

  3. In the Use field,

select Generic PostScript PrinterSee the sample image below for what your screen should like like

  1. choose Select Software…

  2. This brings up a windows where you can select the specific driver for this device. Choose HP Color LaserJet Flow X67765.

  3. Click the Add

  • Be sure to select the Duplex Printing Unit check box on the popup window and click OK

    • The printer called SON-Student_Printer has now been installed

    2. A screen enabling you to select additional printer features should appear. For SON student printers, toggle Tray 3: ON and set Stapling Unit: to “1 Staple Unit” Do NOT select/enable any other features or your printer may not function properly.

    3. Click OK.
